Things to consider when DIY

Premium Sealers offer a complete application service for all of our products. However if you choose to Do It Yourself, there are a few things you should think about before you start.

Surface area and cost

Calculate the area of the surface you wish to seal (in metres squared). This allows you to work out how much product you will need and at what cost. Our handy table on the right will help you with this. We can then mix the amount of product required for your surface.

Choosing the right product:
High traffic areas

Is the surface a high traffic area? Are people walking over it all day or cars parking on it regularly? This may influence the product you will need.

Choosing the right product:
Wet areas

How often is this surface wet? Is it near a swimming pool, drain or reticulation? Our sealers are excellent liquid, stain and fungal repellents but not water proofing products. Talk to our staff about the best options for your wet area.

Surface preparation

A surface should be properly prepared before the sealant is applied. This is to ensure that the surface is clean, the sealant goes on smoothly and looks fantastic. Talk to our staff about how best to prepare your surface before sealing.

Sealant application

It is possible to get a professional finish from doing this yourself, but wise to speak to us first so that we can give you the best possible advice. We work on a case by case basis so that each customer gets the individual instructions they need for the area they are sealing. We will give you safety tips and tell you how to get the best finish from our products.

Cleaning and maintenance

Over time sealant may need to be re-applied due to the effects of weather and daily use. However you can extend the life of your surface with proper cleaning and maintenance. Talk to us about the best way to protect your surface.
